Tenshi With A Shotgun

Version 1.1

Fixed a bug in hard mode where you spawn inside the walls. Living inside the walls is not recommended, so I made it impossible :p

VERSION 1.0 is finally here!!!!!!!!!

Fight as Amatsuka Uto together with Bao the whale agains an evil gloop monster that took the shape of Bao! Do this with your trusty shotgun and dashing around the obstacles by using it's recoil in this action platformer!

After a year of working on it and having to learn game development, art, level design,  mental health balancing and a lot more, I actually made a working game ^^

It's one level and a bossfight, but with a complete story, multiple difficulties, an animated music video (sorta :p) and just a whole lot of passion!

Again, AD to move. SPACE to jump, left click to shoot normally and right click to shoot with a dash in the opposite direction B)

With F1 you can access some options that come with the engine like the sound  and visual options. 

You can also press Esc to put it in Fullscreen mode which is recommended! Big windowed mode can also work ^^

(Oh and if you play windowed, don't move the window during the credits, cause that will break the timing of the music)

Special thanks to the stars of the show: Uto and Bao for letting me make this! It was supposed to be a thank you for the amazing content, but this became something more than just a thank you XD. I really hope you like it!

WE are almost there!

I just need to add the credits and some sound effects! Other than that, it's basically finished!

With the help of your feedback I have made a lot of changes!!!

All bugs that were found were fixed and the difficulty balance has been changed. By adding more invulnerability after hitting the goop, the game was suddenly very easy, so I reduced the number of checkpoints. The last two obstacles haven't changed, because they are now easier by damage boosting, but that needs some testing of course!

Also, there now is a titlescreen (without title) where you can start new games or resume your previous save. 

Oh and people had trouble playing in windowed because the mouse isn't locked to the window. This is why I recommend playing either in big window mode (After booting up the game, click the top right maximize button (the one you use in all windows)). Or play in fullscreen by pressing Escape. You'll see black borders on the side, but at least you can still click there and shoot your gun. (also, full screen has some visible glitches, but those arise because fullscreen resizes weirdly due to the already weird aspect ratio)

For future games I now know it's better to build in a resolution that fits the screen aspects when playing with mouse and keyboard controls. If I want to change them now, I would have to rebuild the level in it's entirety.

Anyway!

Next up is making the level look pretty, then I add the boss battle and finally some story aspects with small cutscenes!

NEW VERSION BABY

After a long ass time and a lot of learning, I actually made a new version!

I made a lot of progress during me streaming the development, but there were some fatal flaws that hindered development being:

jup, I had a lot to learn about development and most of all, myself. I added waaay too many features, for example, ths was a rhythm game at one point and I spend months trying to make it 2,5D in an engine not made for that cause I'm stubborn AF.

so, what is left? At the moment, one short level, BUT it actually focusses on using the main mechanic of blasting off thanks to the shotgun recoil. The boss battle, Bao but evil,  is there too, but not in this version for now, because I wanna focus on the level design first! And for that I need feedback XD

So I hope you download it, run the 'player.exe' and play it for a bit! That would be appreciated a lot!

It's recommended to play in windowed mode btw, but with Escape you can make it fullscreen.

Things I'm going to add:

-option to make the camera bigger, so you can see ahead and look at the obstacles

-sounds!

-small story (I already have about everything ready, just need to implement it

-music of course B)

- once the level design has been "approved" by you peepz, I'll make the level pretty like the very first section.

Angel with a shotgun (old version)

I love many Vtubers and had an idea of using the knockback of a gun in a platformer for a while. So, when Amatsuka Uto released her Angel with a shotgun cover I knew exactly what needed to happen.

It's still a work in progress and I want to add many more Vtubers who I adore, but here is already a small working prototype!

You can use WASD to move, press Space to jump and hold to glide. Right click will let you shoot and when you do, you be be blasted backwards which can be used to gain height or to doge a bullet. You can regain bullets by touching the ground and by hitting frenemies. (They will turn pink when shot, because they will fall in love with Uto to make it less violent^^)

There are three kinds of enemies, seperated by the scuffed rooms and that's about it for now. Have fun and feedback is appreciated!
